This piece on Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is part of ‘Discoveries: Montreal’, a series of artworks representing the boroughs on the island of Montreal. When I first came to Montreal I was immediately struck by the distinctly different atmosphere of the different boroughs. I thought it would be an interesting project to see if I would be able to create a series of different works based on that observation. The research for this project taken me to places I would never have come otherwise. I’ve greatly enjoyed this journey of discovery and feel like I know the city a lot better then when I first came here. With this series I hope the viewer will make some discoveries as well.
This mixed media painting on wood is created using a combination of image transfer and acrylic paints and mediums. The artwork comes with a wire on the back for hanging, it is signed on the front and has title, date, artist name and a signed certificate of authenticity from the artist on the back.
